Service

The Choir was established in 2006 by SideBySide - fight crime & share love change to revised version. Using music as a medium to promote anti-crime messages, the choir helps its members to establish positive values through learning inspirational songs. Members are trained to become “crime prevention ambassadors” to help spread the crime prevention messages to the community in the form of artistic performances.

Target

Based on the rationale of “crime prevention education should start from an early age ”, the Choir recruits student members from upper kindergarten (K3) to secondary school. In order to meet the learning needs of different ages, members are divided into two major groups, namely the “Healthy Angel Group” (junior members) and the “Fight Crime Ambassador Group” (senior members).

Different from ordinary choirs, the members learn positive and inspirational songs here. Through interactive activities, such as news sharing, mass games, etc., members understand the importance of crime prevention. They learn to stay away from drugs, make friends carefully, and cherish their family; and eventually cultivate good characters.

Senior members who actively participate in music training are invited to leadership training team after. Through different activities, members acquire skills to lead activity and communicate with others, which strengthen their self-confidence. Furthermore, they could apply what they learnt to assist other junior members and become the role models for "crime prevention ambassadors".

To deepen members’ understanding about art performance, summer training is conducted in which interested members learn more about singing and dancing, and discover their potentials.

To foster consciousness toward the needs of different groups in the community, members are encouraged to get involved in various services, such as flag selling, elderly home visits etc. Other than engaging in the community, members also develop skills of leading programmes, sense of initiatives, independence and care.

Annual Performance is held every year to unleash members’ potential, recognize their effort and strengthen their self-confidence. They also perform in different platforms such as district anti-crime programmes and community carnivals to spread messages of crime prevention.
